|Showcase the “Bidemega” brand at the IHHS||2019-03-07|
Coway participated in the “2019 IHHS (International Home and Housewares Show)” held in Chicago from March 2 to 6. It was 11th consecutive participation.
The IHHS is the largest exhibition in the North America in which more than 2,00 global companies participate. It was initiated in 1939 and is today recognized as one of the world’s top three consumer goods shows alongside with the Ambiente of Germany and Hong Kong Houseware Fair.
Coway showcased 12 kinds of air purifiers, 3 kinds of water purifiers, and 2 kinds of bidets at the IHHS. Particularly, the “Bidemega 200” which was developed with the purpose of targeting the U.S. bidet market gain much popularity from buyers and visitors.
The penetration rate of bidet in the U.S. market is estimated at around 2%. Even though bidet is unfamiliar to the U.S. consumers, the bidet market is expected to have high growth potential as sales trend is on the rise. In response, Coway declared its penetration into the North American bidet market by launching the Bidemega brand at the “2019 CES (Consumer Electronics Show)” held in Las Vegas in January 2019.
The best feature of the Bidemega 200 is the i-wave water-jet system which is core technology of Coway. This system provides users with optimal cleaning courses tailored to their body condition by combining water pressure, air, cleaning scope, and time in a scientific manner. This product will be launched in the U.S. market within the first half of this year.
Ji-hoon Lee, the head of Global Retail Business Division, said, “The IHHS allowed us to gain confidence that not only water purifier and air purifier but also our bidet will become popular in the global market including the U.S. Based on our unique technological competitiveness and brand power of the Mega series, we will be proactive in targeting the U.S. bidet market and eventually lead the trend of bidet in the global market.”
